white stone~

He who has an ear let him hear, let him hear what the spirit says to the churches~ To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat~
and...I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it~ Rev 2:17
God has a new name for you! A special name that no one knows except the Lord. Pastor Chuck Smith in his new book The final Act says it probably has to do with the future and all God has in store for you~
Imagine that!

Pleasing God~

You have to read this book by Kay Smith!
She is upfront.. firm....funny...
You've been given one life. The choice of what you do with it belongs to you. You can live it unto yourself, pursuing your own pleasure, or you can offer it back to the one who breathed life into you......
I have read it 3 times! I can't get enough!
Also.... Kay (who I love) has a another book just coming out called Reflecting God~ I'm waiting for these( I ordered several) in the mail!
Big Hugs!

fellowship~

~Do you avoid fellowship...church on Sundays?
Uh oh! better read this~might hurt a bit~
Hebrews 10:24~
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as in the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much more as you see the Day approaching.
The word here "stir up" in the greek means convulsion...in this context it means the tremendous impact we can have on each other...that is why Paul (believed author) exhorts us to gather together...the believers had stopped gathering together and where saying (like many do today) "we are the church" (yes we are) but Paul is not using the usual greek word here for church..instead he uses the compound form of the word synagogue, which means local physical gathering of believers....the local assembly is where the gospel message is preached and also where it is to be applied to our lives....
God has given Pastors a gift for a reason to bring the word to you in a way you can understand it.... then we get fellowship together... meet new people and stir one another up...then apply what we have learned in our lives.... BTW Day appraoching is JESUS returning for us...rapture!
I'm sorry but I get really tired of hearing "we are the church" and it's used for and excuse not to go on Sunday's to church (oh.... but we have home-fellowship...if you do) you have no accountability you only serve yourself and your little group!
Come on you guys grow up!
oooh ouch!
I do love you~you know that!
hugs!

Happy Birthday honey~

you make my heart sing!

beautiful jewelry~

A few years ago while we were in Israel I was given this necklace...I actually saw it in the shops in the Jewish quarters , I fell in love with it! I love supporting Israel~ Ayala's jewelry is just so stunning~ my little treasure~

Ayala Bar was born and resides in Israel. Since graduating from art school, Ayala Bar has worked in many artistic areas, from theater to interior design. In the late 1980's, she surfaced as a prominent Israeli jeweler.
The designs in the Ayala Bar Jewelry Collection blend natural elements, glass beads, Swarovski crystals, and mineral stones on assorted metals to create a rich mosaic, resulting in intricate limited-edition pieces. Ayala Bar has consistently produced designs that are innovative yet timeless, bold yet feminine, and international in appeal.
Ayala Bar limits her collection run to six months. Thereafter, she combines different colors, beads, fabrics and shapes to create a brand new collection. After more than 15 years designing collections, Ayala continues to amaze her customers with new designs. She follows the approaching seasons’ expected color trends but her designs remain classically distinct which is the main reason why the jewelry is collected and worn throughout the years. Some people fall in love with the bead shapes, others love that specific color shade only found that season. Either one is not likely to be seen again in her future collections, so customers must grab it up while they can.
Each Ayala Bar necklace and Ayala Bar earrings are handcrafted and have the artist's name on the back. Ayala jewelry is immediately recognizable for the unique layout of beads and the beautiful combination of colors used in each piece. Every woman finds her own special radiance and very personal signature in the Ayala Bar jewelry she has chosen.

bookmarks~

this past week (below)I was able to make a few bookmarks ~
I'm sharing.....
I know what your thinking...shabby and worn! Your right.... love love them! All made from old pieces of fabric, lace and jewels~ they make my heart sing...and yes I use them!

You can order the little silver ribbon crimps from this company-they are so inexpensive. A great idea for gifts for teas or retreats~ buy some ribbon and crimp the end add a jewel...add a scripture to paper and sew (or glue) it on to the ribbon....

A quick note...you have to hammer the crimp pretty hard so use a good hard surface that you do not care about denting~ i did not use ribbon on the white ones I used old white bias tape ~

...we also made some lovely bookmarks in our ladies Bible study that helped us remember Genesis~ we actually collage words cut from books with bits and pieces of lace and trims...I can actually look at my bookmark and tell you what happened in each chapter by looking at a few key words pasted on it...so fun and sooo sweet~

I hope you enjoy all below~

Big hugs!

~hand made lace~

The lace in this photo is handmade~ I've had the pleasure of meeting with a lovely lady in our church once a week when I can. She has been teaching me the forgotten art of lace making~old bobbins dangle from a round pillow ...each with hand painted glass beads attached to the ends for weight....I could just stare at the beads all day- they are so beautiful~ lots of pins and cotton thread as you weave your way back and forth... it takes time & a skillful eye~I feel so blessed to learn such a thing of the past~

Women's tea ~

~You will be a Crown of Beauty in the hand of the Lord~ Is 62:3

Last October we had our first women's tea. It was lovely in many ways- everyone showed up in their spring dresses ~ 80 wonderful ladies were in attendance.
In order to keep cost down we baked everything ourselves ~

Ooh~there were buttery scones, precious tea cakes with pink icing, savories, delicate cucumber tea sandwiches dipped in dill , many dainty delightful treats to warm your heart. We had fresh brewed tea and coffee served in china teapots (by our youth girls who were fabulous!). We made all the gift give aways (lovely vintage tags).

On every table placed so perfect where darling tea cups (which i have collected over the years) along with lovely dessert plates of many different dreamy patterns all mixy~match-some chipped (loved that most~). I had bought up every little crystal dish I could find at all the local OP shops- some with little tiny feet so sweet they danced delightfully upon each table with the strawberry jam and cream so plumply placed in them!

We skirted tables with every tablecloth we could find (which I loved)....they all came from someones linen closet with a bit of history perhaps a grandmothers, an aunties a wedding gift & then some from other countries~ all in whites and creams~ flowers were picked fresh from gardens, we had an amazing amount of roses fragrantly it filled the air with the aroma of heaven!

I ordered precious little tags with our scripture on them that sat a top every plate~ they added that final touch each adorned with German glass glitter from their maker ~ you can get them from a friend of mine online from her sweet shop under the paper category~http://www.katiesrosecottage.com/ the costs are so inexpensive.... there are so many to choose from! I'm sure you can custom order by looking through her tags and have scripture added to yours~
You can hear the message online by going to our website at Calvary Wellington NZ http://www.calvarywellington.org.nz/ under women's events~

make sure you click on pics to see the yummy goodies up close!
Bless and hugs!! xo

Friends~

Friends~
The closest friends in my life are the friends I made after I came to Christ.
My older sister just told me her daughter, my niece just had her 13th Birthday. She had been planning it for a while. She sent out invitations then on that Friday they were confirmed. My sister bought the cake, pizza's and all the favors...then on the Saturday morning (day of party) the girls cancelled (most all-perhaps another party?). My niece cried all day and my sister ached so badly for her. She took her to get her nails done-bought her a camera in place of what should have been her 13th party. When I read this I cried too~ aching for her .
Kayla- if you are reading your Auntie Pam's blog- know this....there will be friends to come that you will treasure and they will treasure you-this I know for certain! The hurt we go through now molds us and shapes us into who we will be. It may be hard to understand now but the one thing for sure is you are learning how not to behave.
The Bible says there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother- (that is Jesus)~
He will never leave you and He always shows up He promises!
Get your camera out Kayla~ take some pictures and post them~
Big Hugs!
love xo

3 buckets full~

3 Buckets full~

My favorite little shop here in New Zealand! This shop is tiny~ but filled with so many little treasures...drawers and drawers of vintage jewels, buttons clasps and beads nothing new! Some dating into the 1800's. She has linens and vintage lace so rare . I only go once in a while as I can spend hours combing through the little drawers and she only takes cash ....which is a good thing! I always come out with some precious jewels and bitz and pieces~The lady that own's it is a wealth of knowledge about everything. I have even found jewels in here to replace the ones that have fallen out of my Nana's vintage necklace that was passed down to me. This place makes my heart sing! Make sure you click on these to see up close...dreamy vintage things!

I'm working on some things to post.... old wire bottles and vintage jewel things I'm making...just taking me a bit longer than i thought~ sorry!

Where do you draw your inspiration from? I was reading today during my study time in Daniel how he prayed with the window open (not afraid of who would see him)....I drew great inspiration from that~

It's a precious thing to bow your head and pray....even if others are watching-we serve an incredible God, what matters is He is looking and he hears ~
Bless and hugs!
