simple beauty~

I like simple beauty~ before leaving New Zealand we were invited over to a friends house who lives out in the country. They were such gracious hosts....they had some sheep on their little farm that Mark got to feed. As we walked up the hill I spotted these beauties! A lovely old bath tub and a shabby old shack. To me this is simple beauty!

a frock ~

Before I left New Zealand Mark and I stayed our last couple days on the Kapti Coast which was wonderful~ We went to this little town to get a couple Christmas gifts for our kids. I saw this on one of the boutiques~
A frock is a dress in the New Zealand and Australian lingo~ I love it because my Nana (who is from Australia by Adelaide area) would always say "oh my frock isn't covering my legs-shocking"!
I thought this was just adorable and had to share!
As for now....well we are here in California. Had Christmas with our kids and my family. ....lots ahead of us while we are looking for a car to drive a place to live and what we are going to do here...been out all day searching~
a returning missionary....seems so strange~
Keep us in your prayers~

will it fit~

After getting rid of half my stuff ....which was a painful process for me (not because I worship it or it was expensive) but because everything I have has a memory attached to it. I have had to downsize because the shipping container is SO expensive leaving NZ the 20ft container is costing us 13000 NZ dollars (we came with a 40ft) we are trusting God to provide for the expense which He is always faithful..... Well now the shipping man came by again to reassess our things. He just sent an email after doing the numbers and we have to get rid of more things. I have to now go through the boxes we ALREADY packed to reexamine what stays what goes. We are still over the limit. We have to leave all our garden furniture...beautiful huge Italian pots we bought for our first home which Mark just scrubbed for hours~plus more furniture etc...
Loved this picture above.....I am taking the chandelier that belonged to my parents...
how do you handle them? We all have different ones....but never the less trials.... pray the rest fits....I just want to finish!
Bless & hugs!

just things~

just things~ little precious memories for me....
we are packing away~ I'm finding it hard to think straight. Every time I turn around something else....will it fit? Whom shall I give it ? I was able to give some dreamy stuff away to a few younger gals that are creative and newly married. They remind me of me when i was that age. It really blessed me to give it to them. I know they will use the things. For me it's like older teaching the younger women to be keepers of their home~
I will admit today~ I'm/we are sweet hubby has been working so hard he threw HIS back out today. Ha...we are just a pair! I'm trying to think how we will get all the pots he cleaned out into the garage! O-dear! told him, "Oh no does this mean you can't bar b q"? Trying to use the food in freezer as the fridge goes on Thursday!
I'm actually laughing right now!
I know the Lord will never give us more than we can handle so we keep going!
Bless & Hugs!

The things that bring me peace & calm are prayer with Jesus, His Word and sweet fellowship with sisters/people that encourage & exhort~
As a pastors wife you see many people who have so many woes, aches and pains. I find the more things I am going through, the more I am given to encourage others. When things seem so overwhelming in my own life and in others it is comforting to know I can pray, encourage & point to Jesus for He has ALL the answers. It can be exhausting in so many ways both physically and mentally if you never understand this it is Jesus who heals us, helps us, strengthens us. So we need to get our eyes on Him.
It's strange but for some reason this time this move has been the hardest of them all. I refuse to dwell on it all though and walk around with sackcloth and ash on my head. I have aches and pains just like we all do...years of a bad back etc...I could go on but years of walking with the Lord have taught me to take it all to Him in prayer.....then leave it with Him....
I was thinking.....
What are you like when you have trials in your life? Please note yes...we need to go to each other for prayer and encouragement for this is how the body works. But do you complain a lot to others, putting on your mourning face a lot? Do you think of yourself before others and what they are going through? Do you drain people because the attention is not on you? Are you a giver? Do you avoid fellowship (which is really selfish)? I have noticed over the years that people who do this are the ones who hardly ever serve and give (observation). You can get bitter or better, you can have pity or be pretty and by "pity" I mean on way to cure the "self thing" is to jump in and think about someone else for a change. Jesus was exhausted for sure, I mean come on He knew what was ahead of Him, the cost...He is our example His love for us kept Him going. Paul had everything happen to him ( including physical)...he kept going! Don't get offended if you are reading this- we all have to stop and think if this is us/me? I am not saying that some people do not genuinely suffer and we need to lift them up and care for them, of course~ but you would not believe how many people have severe problems and live in joy because they keep living for Jesus with their eyes fixed on Him....even Amy Carmichael the missionary to India (read her book) kept going after her debilitating injury. That is why we have all her books - she wrote them from bed!
Tired and achy I am yes, I will share that....but down cast I am not ( which literally means you can't get up) all because of the mighty name of Jesus! How do you want people to see you? A servant of Jesus....or here comes trouble? Which by the way is spiritual immaturity....I want to serve even if it hurts and finish well.
I think it would be a good thing if we all looked at ourselves and perhaps took our eyes off ourselves, served in the church (yes your church on Sundays) and gave....Jesus says ,"when you give".....there are far too few people who do this, but you know the ones who do they are obvious...because of the Joy they have...always thinking of others. I'm exhorting here!
I love these pictures above~ they are calm....lovely....peacful....half my furniture is gone so I am dreaming.....
just sharing~
Bless & Hugs!

one last time~

One last time~ ladies study at my house....we finished Colossians which was so good! We had lovely worship and made some dreamy Christmas I have packed it all away - the lace and trims~the German glass glitter-the stamps and ribbons all tucked away in boxes ready for their new friends and home. I will always treasure the freindships with the women here.

Bless & Hugs!
